Thank your own personal deity—possibly Raiden—it's Friday! In recent days, I've seen a ton of buzz about the experience-enhancing potential of PS5 Pro. I'd like to remind you that a lot of PS5 titles have/will be making their way to a PC near you, and can be made to look phenomenal with the right hardware. Maybe that's the way you'll want to go instead? If so, score some of today's bargains!
In retro news, I’ve baked a 31-shaped Friendship(?!) cake for Mortal Kombat, specifically the Mega Drive version. This release was a huge deal for us back in the day, as being able to trick your oldies into buying you a home port of such a bloody and controversial fighter would make you a schoolyard god. What adults didn’t know—but every game magazine reading kid certainly did—was that the censorship could be stripped with the code ABACABB. All in all, a damn fine port and potent ammunition to be used in The Great War (Sega vs. Nintendo).
