My Steam library already weeps under the weight of unfinished epics, but that never stopped me from hunting down another gem or three. Today, the bargain spread across Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation is particularly spicy as well. We're talking genre-defining icons, long-lost favourites and a few modern marvels at prices that practically demand a double-take. Oh, and if you do fancy a Steam Deck, there's never been a cheaper time to buy!

This Day in Gaming 🎂
In retro news, I’m letting my Rapidash unleash Flare Blitz on 21 birthday candles for Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. Hard to believe two decades have passed since I first slotted this Gen III remake of Red and Blue into my GBA and went on a spree of catching unsuspecting Kanto critters for, let’s be honest, glorified cockfighting. My standout memories come from the Sevii Islands, where Double Battles awaited and legendaries like Lugia and Ho-Oh turned the heat up even further. Glorious times.

Nice Savings for Nintendo Switch
On Switch, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom proves Nintendo can still redefine open-world adventures. I spent hours building contraptions that probably breached OH&S, but the physics engine never blinked. Meanwhile, Pikmin 4 deserves more love than it gets. It began as a side project in Shigeru Miyamoto's notebook years ago, and its quirky ecosystem of tiny gardeners never stopped charming me.
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (-23%) - A$69 An open-air epic brimming with creativity and freedom. Nintendo’s flagship adventure expands on Breath of the Wild with sky islands, fusion powers, and a world that begs for experimentation.
- BioShock: The Col. (-61%) - A$35 Three atmospheric shooters bundled into one. This package spans Rapture and Columbia with remastered visuals, DLC, and unforgettable storytelling that still influences the genre.
- Pikmin 4 (-27%) - A$58 Nintendo’s quirky strategy gem returns with new Pikmin types, Oatchi the rescue pup, and cosy survival-meets-puzzle gameplay that is both relaxed and surprisingly tense when the sun sets.
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons (-27%) - A$58 A life-sim phenomenon. Build, decorate, and live your island life with neighbours who gossip and seasons that evolve. Still one of the Switch’s biggest evergreen hits.
- Ys X: Nordics Del. (-18%) - A$68.50 Nihon Falcom’s long-running action RPG saga sets sail. Expect real-time combat, seafaring exploration, and a tale of Adol facing off against pirates and Norse myths.

Exciting Bargains for Xbox
Over on Xbox Series X, Resident Evil 4 shows Capcom's mastery at reinventing classics. The village fight remains one of gaming's greatest opening acts, even when replayed decades later. The Quarry, meanwhile, is basically a playable horror flick from Supermassive, and it is fun watching A-ish-list actors deliver B-movie dialogue that somehow works.
- Resident Evil 4 (-46%) - A$32.50 Capcom’s legendary survival horror remade. Leon’s Spanish village trip is gorier, tenser, and slicker than ever. A masterclass in pacing, upgrades, and hair physics.
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla (-56%) - A$43.70 Raid, pillage, and settle as Eivor. Ubisoft’s Viking saga leans into RPG systems, vast open-world exploration, and meaty DLC expansions. Still one of the most content-stuffed Assassin’s Creed entries.
- Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time (-43%) - A$57.20 A faithful yet fresh sequel decades later. Classic platforming chaos returns with new masks, multiple playable characters, and enough challenging jumps to make even veterans sweat.
- The Quarry (-85%) - A$15 Supermassive’s teen horror tribute. Choose-your-own-death gameplay packed with movie star performances, gore, and branching paths that make couch play a riot.
- Watch Dogs: Legion (-83%) - A$16.50 Hack London as literally anyone. Recruit grannies, spies, and football hooligans. The gimmick works surprisingly well in this sandbox of drones, chaos, and rebellion.
Xbox One
- Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 (-65%) - A$24.50 A glorious kickflip into nostalgia. Remade levels, tight controls, and that legendary soundtrack return. Still the best way to shred pixels.

Lastly, PC has Hogwarts Legacy, which, politics aside, nails the Hogwarts fantasy I dreamed of since childhood. The other standout is Assetto Corsa Evo, where the mod community is so obsessive they've laser-scanned real tracks for accuracy. It's the closest I'll ever get to Bathurst without embarrassing myself in a real car.
