Terminator 2: Judgment Day Returning to Cinemas Worldwide to Mark 35th Anniversary

Studio Canal, Fathom Entertainment, and Rialto Pictures have confirmed today that the iconic Terminator 2: Judgment Day will be returning to the big screen this year for 35th anniversary screenings around the globe.

“T2 was made for theatres, and coming back to the big screen is the absolute best way to see the film,” said director James Cameron in a statement published alongside today’s announcement. “I believe it’s safe to do spoilers after 35 years, so SPOILER ALERT: the good guys win against the AI superintelligence! And maybe that’s a message of hope we all could use this summer.”

Terminator 2: Judgment Day will screen in the US from August 28 to September 2, 2026. Global dates are listed below:

  • 27 August 2026: Germany, LATAM, Czech Republic
  • 28 August 2026: US, Italy, Poland
  • 2 September 2026: France
  • 3 September 2026: Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary
  • 4 September 2026: UK

The screenings will come just in time for anyone who previously bought the film on PlayStation Network and is about to have their purchase deleted.

1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day, starring Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong, and action megastar Arnold Schwarzenegger, revolutionised action movies and remains one of the most influential and revered films ever made.
